The Immortal's Song

On the planet of Nelrae, war was raging. Humans and Dragons were locked in an epic clash of power, for control. The dragons were infinitely powerful, but the humans had matched this with their nearly infinite resources and the ability to reproduce faster. It was a hopeless, futile struggle.

Realizing this, the leaders of both races decided to perform a 'joining'- A ritual that would bond their souls together, forcing their lives to become inseperable. However this particular joining was different in that it was not just their souls, but the souls of all their people. Thus were dragons and humans connected forever.

Now, it is 200,000 years after that dreadful war. Humans and dragons are complete equals, and all of the races of Nelrae enjoy the peace it brings. Each race accepts each other and gets along to the point of tolerance. It's a time of blessings, some would say; of good things to come and to go.

In this time, humans are dragons are given ranks; titles based at birth and given by powerful draconic sages, and their human partners. Ranks are based on the child's will to live and thus, important since every dragon is bound to a human and therefore their lives depend on this will to live. While titles, on the other hand, are given out based on predictions of the future and can change at any time.

There are many levels to the ranks, with 'Mortal' being the lowest and 'God' being the highest. There is, however, one who had lived longer than anyone could have predicted; one pair of dragon and human who have lived for just over 10,000 years.

They call them the Immortals and, unlike most pairs, they have not only lived for long, but they have never met before in their life...

Far off, somewhere near the nothern polar cap, there was a solitary figure weaving through the ice that fell eternally across the desert of subzero lives. His graceful movements seemed to be something like that of a preposterous dance, especially considering where he was. Threading his way this way and that, while tiny flashes of dying light glinted off the blade of his scythe. It was beautiful, yet so out of place in this land where not even the strongest of beasts could make their home.
That wasn't the point though.
Zao was training, as always. Pushing his body and mind further, beyond the limits he had already broken and breaking more with each slash of his blade. Blade and body moved as one through the drifts and the gusting winds, slicing through a rush of snow which would normally bring comfort, but which now was a flurry of razor sharp icicles. Mindless, merciless weapons of nature which tore through flesh and bone at their mother's call. Yet his body remained fairly intact, only having suffered a dozen minor cuts because of both his heightened sense of self awareness, and the countless years he had spent in training already.
His shirt had been long torn away from the devilish whirrs and gusts which had also cut away the bottoms of his leg armor. Yet still he fought against the bitter cold and the endless torrent of freezing blades, simply to better understand himself... and why limits were meant to be broken.

Deep in a near by forest, Tàri lay against her familiar white tiger, sleeping peacfully. Satara purred softly into her "mothers" ears, causing her to sleep on. As time passed Tàri finally awoke. Sitting up she stretched her arms, yawning deeply. Pulling herself to her feet, she brushed off her butt of any grass or leaves. Glancing around she looked down at Satara and smiled. "Come on...lets keep going." Reaching up into the near by tree she grabbed 3 apples. She tossed one to Satara who caught it in her jaw easily while she gently bit into another. "It shouldn't be long now..." As they started walking again she took another bite into the amazing apple she had picked. Tossing the third to Satara she smiled softly. The only person who truly ever understood me... Satara, hearing Tàri's thoughts, glanced up at her and purred softly. As the forest passed by them, Tàri saw a clearing up ahead. "What did I tell you?" She said as she tossed the core of her apple to the ground.

2007-12-31 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: You're PRO. Seriously... *looks around* I coulda sworn...

2007-12-31 [Lin-tastic]: Well, I do swear on occasion...so you're definitally allowed to if you're...more 'tyr' than me.

2007-12-31 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: I'm much more tyr than you. In fact. I'm probably like... i don't know... 10 bazillion% more... at the least.

And yes... bazillion is a scientifically accurate number. When you're tired.

2007-12-31 [Lin-tastic]: ...hmm...-goes to Google it-...nope. It's got no recognizable definition...woah...and apparently google has no recognizable definition either, unless you count the 'name of a popular search engine' ones...lol

2007-12-31 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: no no... Google is a number... *nods*

2007-12-31 [Lin-tastic]: Yeah, but it wouldn't give me the definition...lol I googled the definition of google...oh, and you see how it's come into the meaning of looking for or searching? lol

2007-12-31 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: *nods* I don't want to talk about Google *kicks their church* such a stupid trend -.- all well.

2007-12-31 [Lin-tastic]: lol You're smiley's split up...lol

2007-12-31 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: eh... it was dead anyways.

2007-12-31 [Lin-tastic]: Ah...makes sense...no wonder the closed eyes was clear across the screen. lol

2007-12-31 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: *nods* exactly.

2007-12-31 [Lin-tastic]: Great! My grammer slipped, again! "was clear"? I must be on something...but then again, it could just be the result of a tired mind...

2007-12-31 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: if had said 'eye' it made sense...

and it's grammar, last I checked.

2007-12-31 [Lin-tastic]: ...great! Grammar AND spelling! Both friggin' out the window!...is friggin' even a word?

2007-12-31 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: To me. Yes. To the dictionairy... probably not. English is almost dead anyways though *shrugs*

2007-12-31 [Lin-tastic]: Really? How so? I speak English, how is it dead?

2007-12-31 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: I said almost. *pokes* And english is slowly dying that to... *Shudders* chatspeak... this 'gang slang' and whatnot... and I'm about ready to beat people... Exterminatus Now said it best when they gave an example of a kitten and shotgun. I'll let you fill it the rest...

2008-01-01 [Lin-tastic]: ...fill it the rest? I think you should slow down and watch what you type, sweetie. It doesn't exactly always make sense...

2008-01-01 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: I'll have you know that 4 a.m. is not a kind mistress, nor is stress <.< or having an autotype function on my hands...

2008-01-05 [Lin-tastic]: I've been there and done that several times. Try staying up for two days straight and see how you type...it's uncanny how I managed to hold a decent conversation for how long I did...lol

2008-01-05 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: Oh, no. I believe you misunderstand. I'm only tired between the 18-20 hour mark, and then again at the 35-38... I don't know exactly why, either <.<; mostly it's because that's when everyone else is asleep... so I have nothing to do...
